traditional dances

The methods of teaching Greek traditional dances are: (a) the whole method and (b) the partial method. According to the first, the dance is presented by the teacher as a whole, while in the second it is divided and presented in sections. The difficult and complicated dance moves are analyzed to be understood by the practitioners. Both methods can be used in the same dance, depending on the kinetic pattern of the dance. The method chosen depends on the degree of difficulty of the dance, the age of the trainees, their gender and experience, their talent, the experiences they have acquired, etc. Sometimes the teacher may present a dance in a video from a dance performance and the practitioners record the dance steps, but this method requires that the practitioners be at a sufficiently high level.
