The Hellenic Heritage Foundation is now accepting Nominations for two separate Recognition Awards to shine a light on exceptional leaders that are making significant contributions in our communities: Lifetime Achievement Award, and Outstanding Achievement under 40 Award.

These Awards will be presented to distinguished Canadians of Hellenic descent or Philhellenes that have demonstrated excellence in their career or field of endeavour while contributing to philanthropy or the betterment of our society.

The nominations will assist the selection committee in identifying and celebrating the achievements in our Hellenic-Canadian community. The Nomination period will be open for two months, from October 1st to November 30th, 2019. Nomination forms can be submitted online through our website, by email or by post.

The HHF launched the Recognition Awards in 2012 and since its inception, has proudly honoured: Supreme Court Justice Andromache Karakatsanis; renowned physician-scientist, the late Dr. Dimitrios Oreopoulos; philanthropist and Blackberry founder, Mike Lazaridis; internationally acclaimed composer Christos Hatzis; legendary opera singer, Teresa Stratas; philanthropist, inventor and entrepreneur, Dr. Savvas Chamberlain; philanthropist and CEO of Achieva Health, Toula Reppas; one of the world’s leading young particle physicists, Dr. Asimina Arvanitaki; scientist, inspiring educator and humanitarian, Dr. Helen Dimaras; visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist, Nikolaos (Nick) Mirkopoulos; pediatric allergist, clinical immunologist and community leader, Dr. Fotini Kavadas; and entrepreneur, philanthropist and community leader, John Dagonas.
