On July 20th, 2024, we recognize the 50th anniversary of the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus and invite all our members, donors, supporters and friends to listen to a new public history podcast series we have created to mark this occasion called – Cyprus: An Island Divided.

Produced by our award-winning HHF History Committee, this five-part podcast series includes an introduction to early Cypriot history and culture, the history and politics of the new republic, the events of 1974 and the efforts at a peaceful resolution. Episode 4 also looks at the Cypriot diaspora where you’ll find personal stories of Cypriots and how 1974 affected them. Hosted by Sandra Gionas and George Panayi, we hope this series brings a deeper understanding of historical events and the Cypriot conflict.
